During the Big Game for the past 9 years, Kia has been the talk of the commercial-loving crowd because of how cool the ads came off. Most recently was the all-new Kia Stinger and Steven Tyler being paired together to represent the spirit of performance and power.

This year, Kia took a different approach for its 10th year in a row of airing commercials during the Big Game. That’s because our brand wants to Give It Everything to ensure that our world is a better place. And what better way to do so than putting the money typically designated for a big-name celebrity towards something completely different?

What Kia’s Big Game Commercial Means

Kia decided to showcase the new Give It Everything messaging through showcasing 4 parts of our brand’s spirit:

  • Trying harder
  • Working smarter
  • Building better
  • Sweating every detail

That same spirit is shared by people like you around the country who work to get where they are. That’s why Kia decided to take the money that would normally go to a celebrity and instead put it into the Great Unknowns Scholarship.

This scholarship has been introduced to honor 16 students who embody the Give It Everything tagline through their demonstrated leadership & participation in school & community activities. It will help students pursue their academic dreams in college or vocational school programs.

Students ages 24 and under who want this scholarship can see if they qualify and register for it from now until Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 3:00 pm Central Time (4:00 pm in the Eastern Time zone). You must be a U.S. citizen and be a high school senior, high school graduate or a current post-secondary undergraduate to qualify.

Here’s the documentary showing the inspiration behind the 2019 Big Game commercial titled titled Just a Small Georgia Town about West Point GA, the home of a Kia factory since 2009. At this factory in this former textile industry hub, some of our vehicles are assembled including the all-new 2020 Kia Telluride that’s set to debut this coming spring.
